East Anglia TWO Offshore Windfarm-Upcoming construction works and road closure – B1353, Thorpe Road, Aldringham cum Thorpe

We are writing to inform you that ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) will soon be undertaking civil engineering works along Thorpe Road. This work involves the installation of Access Points 3 and 4 onto our construction haul road and associated cable ducting and utility installation. These works will involve a temporary closure of Thorpe Road, B1353, Aldringham cum Thorpe and form part of the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm project.

Work schedule:

  • Start Date: Monday 5th January 2026
  • Duration: Approximately 25 days (road space permit ending Friday 30th January 2026)

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
  • No works will take place on Sundays

Scope of works:

  • Civil engineering works, as part of the EA1N/EA2 underground cable route enabling works
  • Installing a temporary, signalised haul road crossing for our projects’ construction traffic
  • Installation of associated kerbing, signage and road markings

Please note, weekend working may also be permitted, subject to SCC approval and work progress. If needed, to accelerate the programme and minimise disruption to residents, businesses and road network users, we will communicate further.

To minimise disruption as far as possible, access will always be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians (including pedestrians with buggies/prams) and wheelchair users and our teams are committed to conducting these works in a safe and efficient manner.

All traffic management measures have been approved by Suffolk County Council (SCC) Highways and details of the diversion route can be found via our interactive map. All residents and businesses within the proximity of this work have been written to.
