East Anglia TWO Offshore Windfarm – Upcoming Grove Rd Closure (Friston) notification

Nov 18, 2025 | News, Scottish Power EA1N & EA2

We would like to inform you that ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) will be undertaking essential construction works on Grove Road, Friston, approximately 250 metres North of the Church Road junction.

These works form part of the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm project and will involve the installation of the final permanent surface of the road, following the construction works of new access points, completed in October.

The schedule of work is as follows:

  • Start Date: Monday 1st December 2025 (road closure 1st December 2025 to 12th December 2025)
  • Duration: Approximately 12 days
  • Working Hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
    • Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
    • No works will take place on Sundays and bank holidays

Scope of works:

  • Laying the final, permanent surface of the road, where our access meet.

To ensure the safety of both the public and our workforce, temporary traffic management will be in place. This will involve a road closure of Grove Road from 1st December to 12th December. All traffic management measures have been approved by Suffolk County Council (SCC) Highways and details of the diversion have been included with this mailing.

To minimise disruption as far as possible, access will always be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians (including pedestrians with buggies/prams) and wheelchair users and our teams are committed to conducting these works in a safe and efficient manner.

This information, including diversion route, is available via our interactive map and we have written to all residents within close proximity to the road closures.

We appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
